The Challenge: brand identity, strategic branding, packaging and interior mural designs.

In preparation for its exciting launch, Cielito Querido Cafe required the development of a compelling brand identity, encompassing strategic branding, eye-catching packaging solutions, and captivating interior mural designs. The goal was to establish a cohesive and visually striking representation that authentically conveys the essence of its unique offerings, ensuring a memorable and immersive experience for future customers from the very beginning.

Research and Exploring

The inspiration behind my creation of brand identity, strategic branding, packaging, and interior mural designs for Cielito Querido Cafe stemmed from a deep appreciation for the aesthetic charm of Colonial typographies. Drawing on the elegance and timeless appeal of Colonial times, I sought to infuse the brand with a sense of heritage and cultural richness. The incorporation of popular Mexican sayings not only added linguistic flair but also connected the brand to the vibrant tapestry of Mexican culture. Nostalgia a la Mexicana became a guiding principle in the menu design, allowing customers to experience a journey through time, savoring lost moments and treasured traditions. The emphasis on a neighborhood café ambiance further enhanced the immersive experience, creating a welcoming space where patrons could not only enjoy exceptional coffee but also feel a profound connection to Mexican traditions and a bygone era.

The result is a visually cohesive and culturally resonant design

Drawing inspiration from the intricate typographies of Mexico’s Spanish and French colonial eras, the graphic design of Cielito Querido Cafe evokes the charm of colonial times. Adorning mugs and plates are popular Mexican sayings such as “our daily bread” or “coffee aids the early riser,” adding a touch of cultural authenticity to the dining experience.
In crafting the menu design, both the typography and graphic elements take cues from the nostalgia a la Mexicana. The focus remains on tradition and evoking a sense of the past, capturing moments that may have been lost in time. The design intentionally emphasizes the ambiance of a neighborhood café, creating a visual narrative that resonates with the cafe’s theme and enhances the overall connection with customers.
